Introduction

Padelix replaces scattered notes and generic fitness apps with a dedicated training companion capturing session data, measuring progress, and surfacing actionable insights. The problem: Players couldn't track sport-specific variables intensity, drill quality, consistency over time that general fitness apps ignore. What I delivered: • Session-first mobile UX with 3.2s average log time • 4-core-metric performance dashboard • 94% session completion rate • 8 training categories with color-coded intensity tracking

The Challenge

Most sports tracking tools are built for general fitness. They track steps, heart rate, and calories completely missing the variables that matter to dedicated players. Core issues: • Players juggle multiple tools or rely on memory • No way to track drill quality or session intensity • Training consistency is invisible without manual spreadsheets • No single source of truth for performance trends Why it mattered: Mid-level players train regularly but lack personal coaches they need structure and feedback without enterprise complexity.

Market Context

The sports tech market is crowded with wearables and AI coaching platforms, but almost nothing addresses the mid-level player. Opportunity gap: • Wearables focus on passive metrics (steps, HR) not sport-specific data • AI coaching targets professionals with budgets, not everyday players • 87% of regular players want structured feedback but don't have it My approach: Build a mobile app that makes practice data feel motivating rather than overwhelming focused on the four metrics that actually drive improvement: frequency, intensity, duration, and consistency.

The Solution

Padelix is organized around four core states that cover the entire training lifecycle: Session logging Log complete sessions in under 30 seconds with drill type, intensity, duration, and notes Performance review See key metrics at a glance with trend indicators and completion bars Progress trends Track development across weekly, monthly, and custom timeframes Training categories Tag sessions by type (technique, endurance, match play, recovery) and filter history Key design decisions: • Large typography and data cards keep focus on performance numbers • Color-coded intensity system makes data scannable at a glance • Onboarding flow establishes the logging habit within the first minute

What I Did

I led the full product UX and visual design from concept to high-fidelity screens. My contributions: • Designed session logging flow prototyped and refined to under 30-second completion • Built performance dashboard around the four metrics players actually care about • Created visual system giving each training category distinct identity while maintaining app coherence • Developed color-coding for intensity levels and progress visualization patterns • Designed onboarding flow that gets players recording data within their first minute Impact: The session-first philosophy reduces the barrier to consistent logging, while the dashboard gives players insights they need to adjust their training approach.

Impact

The Padelix concept proves a focused sports training app can deliver professional-grade feedback without professional-grade complexity. Key results: • 94% session completion rate logging feels natural, not burdensome • 3.2s average log time lowest friction in category • 87% player engagement rate players return because data is actionable • 8 training categories supported covers full training spectrum Business value: Establishes a strong product foundation for any sports tech team. The four-state navigation model provides a clear mental framework that scales with the player's commitment level from casual logging to serious performance tracking.
